Fospero Class

Welcome to Fospero Class' Page

Over the last few weeks in 5F, we have been addressing our topic of ‘Space’ in lots of ways. We have learnt about the movement of the Earth; the fact that the moon is not a star nor a planet; and the order of the planets. We’ve painted posters of the planets in their heliocentric order (ask us what that means!) and some of us have eaten Oreos to show the different phases of the moon!

In the core subjects, we are in the process of mastering long multiplication, which has been tricky through our live zoom lessons, but we are persevering and showing good resilience. We must say a massive thank you to all the parents and carers who are helping support their children at home – a very difficult job. One of our triumphs has been the quality of the writing that the children have been uploading via Seesaw, about each paragraph for our Sci-fi adventure based on the book ‘Cosmic’ by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. And in reading, we are up to chapter 9 in our whole class text ‘Street Child’ by Berlie Doherty, answering questions and unpicking texts and vocabulary.

To complement our curriculum, Sways have been created by the teachers which are aimed at thinking about their future choice of careers in PSHE, and how to start planning for and achieving those small steps now to make their dreams come true.

Finally, we have been drawing self-portraits for the first week of three in our whole school ‘Lockdown Arts Festival’ taking place from now until half term. The children have worked really hard to maintain a high standard of learning and I am so proud of them all.
