At Wybers Wood Primary Academy, we have created a culture where safeguarding is given the highest priority and pupils are involved in creating a safe environment.

Staff are vigilant and trained to identify when a child might be at risk and report their concerns. Sometimes, we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will share our concerns with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that by doing so, we would be putting a child at risk.

We actively support the government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism. Our Designated Safeguarding and Prevent Lead is Mrs Teresa Rouse and our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Miss Sarah Cumberland.

We have a number of policies in place that contribute to safeguarding at Wybers Wood which can be viewed on request. You can read our Child Protection and Safeguarding policy on our Statutory Information page here.
